Would (Do) You Like eBillme.com?

I’ve been asked to share my opinion about eBillme.com. This is my honest opinion based on what I know about the company. They say that we can pay for our purchases through our own bank using their online banking feature after the transaction is complete and we revceive an invoice via email.

Although my bank offers that, I have never felt the need to use it. I used to check my account balance online, but I kept forgetting the password, but now that I keep better track of it, that isn’t necessary. And if I do want to check the balance, I just call the bank. Besides that, there is a monthly service fee to use their service. I’d rather not have another monthly bill if their are free ways to pay my bills.

They also say that a consumer can go to a walk-in location to pay their invoice, which, on their web site it says will be emailed to the shopper after the transaction is complete wherever they made their purchase(s).

That could be good if they receive online coupons (abt electronics coupons for instance) online coupons to save them money and then are close enough to a location to make a payment without spending too much on gas to get there. Then again, you may be charged a $4.95 service fee.

It sounds like it could be a good service for some people. But just like anything else, it’s not for everyone. If I were to use their service and if I were already paying my bills through my bank online, that’s how I would go, since I’d already be paying the monthly service fee through them.

Movie Time!

When I first saw the word, “Asus“, my thoughts were not on target at all. Definitely not on laptops. Seeing it made me giggle. Some words just do that, you know? Especially when they are about body parts that are normally hidden. Do you know why that is? The psychology of it intrigues me enough to make me want to research it.

Speaking of laptops, my son brought his computer to my house and said that I could use it. Sadly it needs an external modem and I doubt that he would want me to install any software on it, anyway.

So, although I can’t get online with it, we can watch movies and lisen to music that he has on his external hard drive! I’m going to be watching Push sometime soon. Maybe tonight. I forgot all about that movie until I saw it listed. It’s about time travel! I love it! Can’t wait to see what else there is to watch.

They’re Home!

My son, Anthony, came home last Saturday. It’s usually a surprise, either because he couldn’t get in touch with me or because that’s what he wanted to do. Surprise me. I’ve written about him being in the Air Force a few times and in two months that will change. He’s still officially enlisted and considered to be on paid leave. That’s good because he’s unemployed at the moment. And enjoying it.

Anthony has always been such a hard worker and so he’s not used to this leisure time. But it’s well-deserved and much needed. Everyone needs some time off, especially if they’re work-a-holics. I don’t think he is, I’ve got someone else in mind.

He didn’t get out of the Air Force for good, though. After three years of ROTC and college, he’ll be re-enlisting. He was accepted into officer’s school. Right now he’s a staff sergeant and is already being called “sir”, which he’s not used to since he was just recently promoted. In the army you don’t get called “sir” unless you are an officer. So by the time my son does, he should be used it.

There was a time when Anthony wanted to be a doctor. I think he changed his mind when he realized that he didn’t like the sight of blood. So, instead of medical school he will be going for computer science, which he already has an Associate’s Degree for.

He’s always been ambitious and will do well in anything he does. I just won’t expect him to be telling me that he’s going to attend a medical assisting school.

He won’t be home much longer, but thankfully he won’t be too far away. Not as far as he was when he was stationed in Oklahoma. And not only do I get to spend more time with him, now I have an adorable granddaughter who reminds me so much of him I can’t help but smile. Especially when she hear’s an airplane and looks for it and sometimes points upward. Anthony used to do that, too. Loving having them home.:)

It’s Time to Get Sirius With Some iTunes

Tomorrow is Father’s Day? I thought it was next week. Seriously. The time has been creeping by me so quickly lately. I hope that happens next month because I’m going to be missing someone terribly while he’s away. I hope I don’t cry again.

Well anyway, thanks to the Internet, for those who have a difficult time buying your father a gift, or for those procrastinators, it’s not too late to get him something that he can enjoy whether he’s at home, traveling to or from work, a sports event, or a business trip. Or while just taking a walk, if he has a smartphone with Sirius capabilities.

What time is it? It’s time to get Sirius. It’s not your ordinary AM/FM radio. I’ve read about it and would love to have the service myself if only to listen to Deepak Chopra’s Wellness Radio. There are a myriad of stations and programming will keep your father entertained and he can listen just about anywhere. And he doesn’t even need a radio. But you can still order one and it’ll be like giving him two gifts. One on Father’s Day and one the day the package arrives.

If you want to save money, which, if you are looking at coupons, that’s a given, there are Sirius coupons for $50 off and there are also clearance items, including a selection of reconditioned radios, accessories, and t-shirts. So, no need to worry dear procrastinator. You can still surprise your dad on his special day.

For years I’d see television shows where husbands and fathers would receive a tie for Father’s Day. If he wears a suit and tie on a daily basis for work and is tired of the hundreds of ties already hanging in his closet, then maybe he’ll be happy to get another one. One more won’t hurt, right? Heh. I rather doubt that that’s the case, though.

Who doesn’t love music? Or movies? It doesn’t matter what gender you are or your age. Music is for anyone and everyone. True, not everyone is a movie lover, but if your dad does love a good movie flick, right now there’s a couple of Apple iTunes coupons, one of which is for special priced movies. There’s also one for a “free download: single of the week”

So, although you’re cutting it close, you can still get something special for your dad and you won’t be adding to his never-ending, colorful tie collection.

Losing Weight and Loving Me

Although I’m not ready to jump for joy just yet, I am happy that my weight is still going down. Slowy but surely, I’m losing weight, still without any quick weight loss techniques or any trying for that matter. And this is even after binging on some oatmeal cookies last week. Hmm. I hope it doesn’t show up on my butt or belly this week.

The scale is not an accurate measure, but I still use it. Not obsessively (any more). Really, there was a time (not this year) that I checked every day. Back then I was trying to lose weight (and did). I gained it back a few times since then. That’s the 10 pound range I’ve mentiond a few times before.

According to the scale, I weigh less than I have in I don’t know how long. The great news is that I feel it in the looseness of my clothes. I came to a point where I was finally accepting my body as it was (and is). I’m not at the 100% mark of acceptance yet, but I’m getting there.

I read a lot of articles on line. So I get a lot of tips and advice on a variety of subjects. One being self image. One point that is usually brought up is that we should love ourselves completely. This includes what we see in the mirror. That can be pretty difficult to do when you’ve heard most of your life negative things about your looks. And because of the obsession of what a person looks like including how much they weigh, the scale for many is very important. and looking in the mirror is better avoided to not reinforce those feelings.

I’ve never avoided looking in the mirror. But I’ve also accepted that I’m not what society would consider beautiful. Or even pretty for some. But that’s OK. I’m not looking to impress anyone anyway. While we all want to be accepted, we first need to accept ourselves. Just as we are. The good, the bad, and the…

Anyway. Look within. See the beauty where it really matters

My Son is Coming Home

My son, Anthony, will be coming home in less than a week. He’s in the Air Force and has decided to further his career by going to college. He will be leaving the military in order to do that. He has also been accepted into officer’s training school. I’m so proud of him. He’s been working since he was 15 when he had two paper routes while living with my sister. And he just turned 26 this month.

Anthony is one of the most intelligent people I know. And I’m not saying that because he’s my son. He was talking fluently when he was two. I swear he thought he was smarter than me even at that age:) He was smart, that’s for sure. He was also in the C.A.P.A. program, which is a performing arts program where he played the violin in orchestra and was the lead in his fourth grade play.

He told me that he was bored in school. So I guess he skipped class a lot. He finally asked me if he could go to an alternative school and promised that if so, he would go to college. He ended up graduating six months earlier than he would have, had he continued attending the high school.

Anthony has already fulfilled his promise to attend college. He has two associates degrees and is now pursuing an even higher education. To top this off, he’s married and has an almost one year old daughter, who I can’t wait to see.

When he and his wife got married, it seemed like it was a spur of the moment kind of thing. He came over to my house and asked if I wanted to go with him to eat. I didn’t know they were getting married until we were in the car. He loves surprising me. Even when coming home while on vacation. Well, at the time they got married, we just went to the court house. I would imagine that his wife still wants a big wedding, but I’ll have t ask.

So, will they ever be needing groomsmen gifts or gifts for the bride’s maid? I don’t know, but whatever happens, I love watching how my son’s life unfolds and how he thrives and flourishes.

Right now I’m mainly looking forward to seeing my son, my daughter-in-law and my granddaughter, who I’ve only seen once, but thanks to the social media on the Internet, have been able to watch her grow through photos.

Dark Circles

My best friend (who died in 2004) had dark circles under her eyes when I met her. They didn’t make her look older. I always thought it was from a lack of sleep. Until I met her twin sister, that is.

Then I wondered if it was hereditary, so I looked it up and read that heredity is the primary cause of dark circles. Lack of vitamins can be another factor. I read that stress isn’t a factor. I wonder. I haven’t seen their mother in a long time and so I’m not sure, but I think she has them, too.

She complained a lot about them and I think she tried different under eye cream for dark circles products to cover them up but not to get rid of them. Maybe she didn’t know about any. She didn’t have a computer back then and the Internet was new anyway. The products that she used didn’t work. She looked so tired. Little did I know that she was very ill.

I don’t know if it’s related, but my friend also used to get migraines. I wouldn’t be surprised if her sister gets them. Their mother does which is where my friend got her medicine from. I also wondered if the migraine medication caused it. Probably not, but it crossed my mind anyway. She never could figure it out, either.

She kept the windows in her living room covered with aluminum foil to keep the sun from shining in. She said the light was too bright and that it made the migraines worse. She suffered a lot and although I miss her, I know that she’s at peace.
