Look Young, Feel Young

When I was 25 me, my youngest daughter’s father, and a few of his friends had gotten together for some beer. (I can’t believe I used to drink that stuff. Ew.) To be honest, looking back, I didn’t even think about how old they all were. Well, I knew that my daughter’s father was 20. He looked and acted older and him being that age didn’t matter to me.

They each gave me some money and I went to a liquor store to buy the beer. The woman behind the counter who looked like she was in her 60s asked me for my I.D. I had been told more than once that I look younger than my age, but that was the first time I was asked to show my I.D. When she saw my age, she said that I looked a lot younger and when I told her I had two children she told me that I didn’t look old enough to have any kids. I thanked her and hoped that looking young would continue. I feel young most of the time. At least in my mind.

What I didn’t think about, that in order for me to keep looking young, I needed to take care of myself. Some people use products such as oro gold moisturizer. I’m not going to say that I eat right because I don’t. Not always. One thing that I do and that is an integral part of my life, however, is meditate.

I think the body and what it can do, how it can repair itself is so amazing. It’s been less than three years since I began meditating and I know that it has made a difference in my life. And I feel a difference every time I meditate. I highly rececommend it.

Their might be a celebrity who meditates that you never imagined would. It doesn’t need to have anything to do with religion at all. I even have a special pair of jeans that I wear. I call them my hippie jeans.

More Important Than T.V.

I went for a year without watching any t.v. and there were only a few programs that I missed. Ghost Whisperer, Fringe, and One Tree Hill. When I finally got my t.v. working again, Ghost Whisperer was no longer on and One Tree Hill was about to be over for good.

I missed Fringe the most. Walter is the scientist who always asks for something to eat. Usually when he’s examining a dead body. He asks in the nicest way and yet it’s so funny. There is one more season left of this show as well. And although I truly enjoyed it and I’m sure I’ll miss it, I won’t feel down about it not being on.

I’m glad to have a television. It’s nice to have just in case I want to watch something. I used to watch t.v. a lot more and now, it’s just not that important to me. I certainly don’t need to concern myself with screen accessories. A big screen television wouldn’t be worth having for me because I wouldn’t want to sit and watch it. I’m afraid that my daughter might want to watch it more, though.

I’d rather be reading and writing. I write a lot, but I just don’t make it all public. But, I will be writng more in public. As long as I have something to write about. I need to do less research and more writing, too.

No Pests

Summer weather is fast approaching and that means flies. But luckily I don’t have a big problem. I usually get gnats, though. Last year I didn’t and maybe because maintenance came out and sprayed around the house it’ll prevent them, too. That’s me being hopeful.

Maybe I don’t need fly sheets this year. I’m sure of it since I’m not a horse. Hopefully I won’t need fly traps, either.

I had some ants in the beginning of spring, but after they sprayed they were gone. I get tired of seeing the line of ants crawling on my counter and around my stove. Glad those pests are gone.

What’s even worse is when my kitchen floor is covered with flying ants or whatever they are. They do look like ants with wings. Whenever we get them, me and my daughter talk and laugh about these pesky insects that evolved from flies and ants “doing it”

Good to Rent

One good thing about living in this house is I don’t have to concern myself with the maintenance of it. The “do it yourself” kind. Whenever there is anything that needs to be fixed or replaced all I have to do is call the manager and then the manager contacts the maintenance department.

Oh, well, Wait a minute. Our maintenance department and our managerial department has recently been outsourced, so now I’m not sure what the procedures are. It’s all about the money. Them wanting to use money for other things. What? I’m not sure. But threaded inserts, whatever they’re for, are their issue, not mine.

Being able to buy your own house is a normal dream. I can’t explain why I haven’t felt this way. Sure, I do agree in infinite possibilities, I just have never intended it. Maybe it’s some kind of fear. Of what, I’m not sure. Foreclosure, perhaps? Whatever the reason(s) they are hidden inside of me. It could simply be that I’m content living as I am.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Uncertainty lingers on.

Botox & Plastic Surgery for Migraines

My best friend used to get migraines almost every day. She had aluminum foil on her living room windows in order to keep the bright sun out when she was suffering. Sometimes she would get medicine from her mother and take injections. I didn’t know how bad it was until she told me that the migraines often made her vomit.

This was always the time when her door would be closed and that meant, “Don’t bother me”. We lived near each other for seven years and were almost as close as she was to her twin sister. She’s my soul sister. Maybe someday I’ll share that story on my spiritual blog.

I just discovered that Botox has become a popular procedure for alleviating migraines. The plastic surgeon who is a co-host on the show, The Doctors says that this procedure is done regularly, works within a couple of days and lasts for about four months.

There’s another method as well. Migraine plastic surgery isn’t so popular and maybe that’s because people don’t want to give up their smiles. I wouldn’t want to suffer from migraines nor lose my smile.

Your Thoughts?

Delectable Delivery

I have always either lived in a home where the mother either baked the cakes from a mix or bought one already baked from the grocery store bakery. I never thought about having birthday cakes delivered. It just never entered my mind is all.

I can think of a few good reasons for having a birthday cake delivered:

* If you want to help someone who isn’t able to bake their own cake and you want to give this as a gift to them and to the person who is celebrating their birthday.

* If someone else is celebrating their birthday and you can’t be there, this would be a nice surprise for them.

* If you are having a birthday party having the cake delivered would save time for you.

* If you don’t know how to bake.

* If you are just too lazy to bake a cake yourself.

* If you’re too lazy to drive to the store to pick one up.

It’s not just birthday cakes. My daughter, for instance, would rather have cupcakes delivered. I’d still like her to give me a real answer of how a cake and cupcakes taste different. Same ingredients, different size and shape. That’s it. We laugh about it, but she’s serious. And I just think she’s silly.

I would say that cupcakes are more fun, but the taste is the same to me. She hasn’t been able to prove me wrong about this yet. But, she’ll still eat cake if that’s what we’ve got. She may complain teasingly while seeing the cake rather than cupcakes being delivered, but I have no doubt that she’d enjoy each bite and may even want a second helping.

Keeping the Memory of Bunny Alive

About 7 years ago, my daughter brought home a three month old bunny. She was black with a touch of gray and brown and she had a white nose and white feet. My daughter told me that she wanted to name her Elizabeth, but she kept saying, “Bunny” and eventually the bunny recognized that as her name.

I used to pick dandelion greens from the yard and whenever I’d open the door, Bunny would get excited. It didn’t matter whether I had any in my hands or not. All she had to do was hear the door. It was like giving her a gift everytime I did this. And she was so smart! What a great memory she had. This was another thing that surprised me. I didn’t know that rabbits had such intelligence and great memories.

There are a lot of different types of gifts for pets, even for rabbits, even for after they have died, but I didn’t have a way to get to a pet shop nor the money to buy much there anyway. But I did find some balls that she liked for awhile. It was fun watching her play and learn. Seeing her jump for joy always brought me great joy.
